Important notes: Don't start another dialogue by scanning fish while D is still talking! Don't get too close to the sea floor, it's difficult to get high enough again to start swimming  sorry :( 

Theres around 9 fish total right now to make it to the end, one is super small, you can find them near rocks and kelp right by the spawn point, super near ground.

The intro dialogue might be too fast to read, at the bottom of page there's a transcript of it.

Theres no menu so game stats as soon as you enter, beware audio warning. And if you scan all 9 fish, theres no way to close game after you see the end screen except for task managerr

The Department of Conservation in New Zealand opens another branch, focusing on marine conservation, after the people voted to ban deep-sea trawling. Many hands make labour in this department, but it's fufilling work, that brings humanity back into the natural cycle of life. Your part is in the bay,  scanning fish with some brand spankin new underwater suit parts.  

WASD to move. E to move dialogue (after intro), and E to scan fishies when close. Spacebar to jump and ascend in water. Ctrl and C to descend. 

There is a lot of substance and content missing within this jam, and only told 1/4 of the story we wished. Hopefully we can add a full week to the game and showcase some coral-planting technology in the future.  But, we still hope you play and leave with a sense of peace, and interest in the creatures that live around Aotearoa.

This is the new protected bay DOCM (Department of Conservation Marine) set up, as part of our reef restoration project.

You know the drill, have a dip and check on the critters underwater.

We're lucky to have some of this tech onhand. You got my lovely tenor guiding you, courtesy of underwater wifi.

And of course, your tiny scanner, tucked into your suit.

When you get close to a fish, press E to give em a scan.

When I was young, it took mutiple blurry photos, 3D scans and then model recreations to get these nice scans for our scientists. 

Who has time for 3D modelling these days though.. :P

Don't forget you have WASD to move, Spacebar to Jump, and Ctrl/C to dive. While swimming, spacebar will take you up.

I don't recommend spamming E when I'm talking though.
